Education & Family Engagement

Learning spaces

Learning Spaces is an early learning initiative designed for caregivers, childcare providers and children birth to five years old.

Through collaboration with local libraries and early childhood professionals, it has been developed to be a preschool program in non-traditional spaces. The program raises awareness about the role of a child’s first teacher and provides meaningful engagement with caregivers.

SCHOOL TRANSITION

Early education lives in the heart of the community, year-round. Our school transition activities are intentional and we seek to work with families, early learning programs and sites, school systems, and position holders in the community to navigate the journey from early learning to kindergarten and beyond.

We center literacy as a gateway to freedom, offering community-based storytelling at our Learning Spaces, through book giveaways, and literacy experiences that honor the voices and languages of our children and families. Our family engagement work is about deep partnership.
